I asked Alan the same thing. The answer he gave me is that
<input type="checkbox" name="C3" {C3:h}>
is not valid html. Since one of the goals of flexy is for
the markup language itself to be valid html, so it doesn't
choke wysiwyg editors, this seems reasonable. Note that smarty templates, for example, don't work so well in such
editors.. another point for flexy ;) One thing you can do
is add a method to your output object like createMyTag() which
generates the entire tag with attributes, and call {createMyTag():h} from your template.

Hi guys, Flexy (recent cvs) doesn't seem to like {} substitutions or php <? ?> escapes inside html tags in a template. If they are inside attribute foo="" value strings, no problem. It doesn't seem to matter which tag, same behavior with made-up tag names. Also doesn't seem to matter if flexy:ignore is used. This is a problem if you want to add your own attributes to arbitrary tags. <!-- okay --><input type="checkbox" name="C1" value="{C1:h}"><!-- okay --><input type="checkbox" name="C2" value="<? echo $C2; ?>"><!-- error: unexpected '{' --> <input type="checkbox" name="C3" {C3:h}> <!-- error: unclosed tags not supported --><input type="checkbox" name="C4" <? echo $C4; ?> >
