actually - the HTML_Template_Flexy_Element stuff is a replacement for the QF code which was dropped. the flexy element is a relatively simple data store/dump system.. - it does no processing (eg. auto reading of form input), no rewriting of form urls... etc. It's purly designed to output tags.. of any type... The HTML_Template_Flexy_Factory is a set of tools for dealing with groups of elements one of the obvious ones being $elements = HTML_Template_Flexy_Factory::setValues($_POST,$elements); which will assign values to elements.. I really need to get more documents done on all this.. since Flexy with run toHtml() on any object in the element matching the name="" tag, you could also drop in Quickform objects in theory.. Actually, after posting I realized that those methods are still CVS only, I'm pretty sure. The new methods are worth it though; much speedier than going through QF, as Flexy used to do. Andy

One thing you can do is add a method to your output object like createMyTag() which generates the entire tag with attributes, and call {createMyTag():h} from your template.
Yea, that's what I've ended up doing. Andy Crain's idea was to use the QF element methods, which is probably nicer in the long term, if you're using the Flexy renderer from QF. But I haven't been able to reproduce those results in my lab yet :-/ Thanks both, -- Mitchell Perilstein mitch at enetis dot net www.enetis.net/~mitch -- PEAR General Mailing List (http://pear.php.net/) To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.php
