As I said, all packages are up2date and
PhpDocumentor installed fine last time.
However, here you are:
# pear upgrade Archive_Tar
downloading Archive_Tar-1.1.tgz ...
...done: 14,232 bytes
upgrade to a newer version (1.1 is not newer than 1.1)
# pear upgrade PEAR
downloading PEAR-1.2.1.tgz ...
...done: 83,126 bytes
upgrade to a newer version (1.2.1 is not newer than 1.2.1)

# pear uninstall PhpDocumentor
uninstall ok: PhpDocumentor
# pear install PhpDocumentor-1.2.1
Could not open the package file: PhpDocumentor-1.2.1
[root@Redhat root]# pear install PhpDocumentor-1.2.1.tgz
install ok: PhpDocumentor 1.2.1
# pear -vvv upgrade PhpDocumentor > upgrade.log
[ produces 2MB output, but everything goes well ]
successfully commited 4495 file operations
upgrade ok: PhpDocumentor 1.2.2.1
