Hello,
I have set up a fresh PEAR installation.
In the configuration page of the WebInstaller "Preferred Package State" is set to stable and on the "Install / Upgrade / Remove PEAR Packages" page I can see "PHPUnit 0.6.2".
The problem is that when I try to install the lastest stable version of PHPunit (ie the 0.6.2 one) I got this error :
-----------------------------------------------
downloading PHPUnit-1.0.0-alpha1.tgz ...
...done: 20,030 bytes
PHP version >= 5.0.0 is required
PHPUnit: Dependencies failed
-----------------------------------------------
This shows 2 problems :
- The web installer tries to install the lastest *beta* and not the latest *stable* version
- The newest version of PHPUnit *only* supports PHP5 whereas it is not even in beta stage. This behaviour excludes almost all servers currently running and does it mean that we should not expect some updates for PHP 4.x ?
Regards
Jean-Marc
