Hi,
I hope here is the right place for submitting proposals.
Anyway from a newcomer's point of view PEAR appears like a treasure island
without a map. Like all over the PHP community there seem to be hundreds of
very talented people giving away their work for the benefit of others.
The trouble is that reuse is sub-optimal due to the lack of a unifying PHP
component model. Too much learning effort is expected from potential users
and, often, developping from scratch is less intimidating an option.
For those who, like me, miss the availability of a component framework for
PHP that would enable out-of-the-box component reuse, I suggest to have a
look at : http://sourceforge.net/projects/reflexivecms/
It's not a CMS despite its name, but a working implemention of a purely PHP
component framework. I feel that PEAR classes could easily be wrapped into
components and made much less intimidating (by lessening the need for
in-depth documentation).
I would gladly collaborate with whoever would like to integrate the proposed
technology into a standard or evolve one from it.
Regards,
