Sounds like an application framework. InterJinn and undoubtedly others
already provide consistent APIs for reusing things like PEAR or PHP
Classes classes. This isn't to say you shouldn't do your own framework,
but the idea isn't new. As an alternative to the default MySQL database
layer, InterJinn provides a PEAR DB layer. This illustrates the ease at
which 3rd party libraries can be integrated, whether it be from PEAR,
PHP Classes, or anywhere else. As already stated though, it's hardly
likely that Interjinn alone provides these mechanisms, and so I would
surmise that there are lots of maps out there, all leading to the same
island :)
Cheers,
Rob.
