i wrote some script which does the following: 1) parse xml file/stream 2) (optional) validates xml against dtd (or later schema - when PEAR::XML_Schema available some day) 3) create a quickform object based upon xml definition 4) plugs valid QuickForm_Controlle_Page object into QuickForm_Controller object.

somehow these thoughts remind me a bit of apache's vast cocoon server, but any thoughts on this subject are very welcome.
This was an idea discussed a bit of time ago between Bertrand and myself, but it really led to nowhere. The problem was that we should either use the home-brewn XML format or the standard one. Home-brewn is bad as it is not compatible with anything. And standard one (XForms) is very big and does not fit into QuickForm (or rather, QuickForm does not fit into it). Which means, please make sure that your package is generic enough to be helpful for PEAR users.
ps: b nice, alexey ;)
Heh. OK, I'll try. But nonetheless I suggest finding a different name for a package, 'cause five-level-deep H_Q_C_P_G does not seem like a good idea to me. Maybe HTML_QuickForm_XMLBuilder or XML_FormBuilder? Besides, I have an implementation suggestion. When you build PHP code based on XML, you *should* have an ability to cache the resultant PHP (the Smarty way). Don't postpone this, as this is usually a huge performance boost.
