Hi Moebius,
The problem is that PEAR cannot install without the "xml" extension - I would open a bug at pear.php.net for the PEAR package explaining that installation should fail early with all dependencies, and specifically mention the xml extension. For now, if you recompile php with xml support (I think --with-xml will do it, but others can answer this better) this will solve the issue.
Regards,
Greg

The distribution installs with PHP 4.4 (I believe)whichshould have it included, but there is no hint ofPEARanywhere on the system. I'm trying to run the go-pear.net script both by saving it as a PHP file and executing, or usingLynx. In both cases, the script runs, prompts for the directories, then downloads and appears to installthedefault packages. All items show as [OK] as the script executes. However, after completion, none of the PEAR files, orthe binary install manager are on the system. At this point, I'm in the dark as to where tolook. The script is being run as root, and I even opened permissions to everyone on the directories inquestionjust to be sure, but to no avail. Any ideas? __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
