apc compatibility with php 4.3.4

Hi not sure if this is the right place for pecl questions, there's doesn't seem to be a pecl-general list. has anyone got apc working with PHP 4.3.4 on linux? I've tried it a few times on Linux Enterprise and i always get a 'apc does not appear to be a valid zend extension' message which turns up zero on google. also the site connected with apc, communityconnect.com, seems to be dead. and out of curiosity, the new pecl install routine that supercedes the former pear install pecl-package-name that used to work, is this documented anywhere, can't find it on pecl docs? pear bundle apc pear build /path/to/apc/package.xml works for me any ideas? cheers demian
