i have successfully installed php5 beta 3 & mysql 5.0.0 & the pear that came
with php5 (on mandrake 9.2). i compiled with mysqli, and was able to connect
with mysql 5 (using the new mysqli_connect() function), but pear apparently
could not, always producing an error "DB Error: extension not found".
replacing mysqli with the standard mysql (compile php --with-mysql) solved
the problem. the question i have is, assuming my experience is to be
expected, when will Pear operate correctly with mysqli?
thanks,
