Hi pears,
may I bring up this subject again? If I remember correctly it wasn't
yet resolved or at least commented upon. Do some maintainers (maybe
even me included) do something wrong in their package.xml?

Subject: [PEAR-QA] (Fwd) Re: PEAR file-hierarchy
Hi,
as mentioned by Jeff on pear-general it seems strange that some
packages have an install-structore for like:
/usr/local/lib/php/doc/HTML_QuickForm/docs/
other packages like HTML_Progress do it "right".
So should we have a look into all package.xml-files and file bugs?
What do you think?
Regards,
Stefan

Some packages seem to be "right" (e.g. HTML_Progress) while others
aren't. Imho this seems unnecessary in most cases, you're right. I'll
bring that subject up again on PEAR QA. Thank you for pointing this
out.
