If I'm correct there is already a complete class for accessing Ebay,
which was developed by Ebay themselves and which should be proposed
to PEAR as soon as it fits our CS etc. :-)) There was a talk on the
Ebay-PHP-API at PHP Conference Amsterdam lately. You can grab a copy
