So it's coming with the loan, everybody happy... I don't mind it's effective, as this will produce a bunch of mail in once. Then poor effect. Better could be each month anniversary of the bug, so it's coming back in the flow single. + no instant overload of servers.
each month anniversary, hmm that would mean we'd run the cronjob every day, doesn't sound to bad, but some developers would get rather, uhm constant flow of emails then :-) Well maybe that would make them fix things, but maybe drive them away from PEAR.
The important thing to remember is that we are sending a summary of all open bugs for a given package to each of the maintainer. A bug anniversary could only really be handled on a per bug basis. I think Helgi's solution is ideal since it keeps a cap on the number of emails. We want this to help developer and not annoy them. Also we need to learn how useful this kind of information is to developers in the real world. So to me your suggestion of bi-weekly sounds like a good starting point (I would have tended towards weekly myself but like I said bi-weekly is fine by me too and seems like a good balance).
But well it seems we'll run this once a month, at least as things stand now.
monthly seems a bit low to me, but sure lets just get it started :-) regards, Lukas
