Hi all, I've been able to close a few bugs since taking over maintenance of Archive_Tar, preparing a new release is something that has slipped through the cracks unfortunately (sorry about that!) Now that I have some time to spend on that, I'm thinking about marking the next release 'beta'. Even though I'm pretty confident about my fixes, Archive_Tar is an essential package. Any thoughts? regards, MichielHi Michiel, If there is anything you should know, it is that you should run PEAR's tests with the current Archive_Tar version, and then re-run them with your new version. If any tests fail that didn't the first time, then you should make sure that Archive_Tar isn't the cause and fix them if not. Also, PEAR will prevent upgrading Archive_Tar unless it explicitly declares compatibility with existing PEAR releases in package.xml using the <compatible> tag, so that's another reason to test it before release. Incidentally, Brett and I noticed that Archive_Tar chokes on USTAR long filename archives, and ext/phar in PHP 5.3 uses USTAR for long filenames. Does the latest beta contain support for this format?
