Ok. Thanks. =) At least. Now it is clear why statistics doesn't work,
but it is not the reason to close this bugreport. I think it would be
better for it to stay open until somebody finds a solution.
BTW, you can point to the sources of cron job and email-mentioned
method of "gathering the stats from the downloads table or each hit
like it used to be done." if you're not going to work on it.

Sorry, but your problem does not imply a bug in PEAR itself. For a
list of more appropriate places to ask for help using PEAR, please
visit http://pear.php.net/support/ as this bug system is
not the
appropriate forum for asking support questions.
Thank you for your interest in PEAR.

PEAR folks do not seem very supportive, don't they? =/
You know that my word is not authoritative in this community anymore
(if it ever was) - that's why I ask somebody, who has the latest
information. If you took a responsibility to answer this question,
could you do it properly, please.

Please consider that I have as little time as you have. If you cannot
use our archives (use beeblex, it is easy), I cannot really help you.
But this is *not* a bug. Keep it closed.

Could you provide a link, please? JFYI I'm not the only one person
interested and my reference to some third-party email (in case I'll
able to find the correct one) is not really an explanation for anybody.
But if you would be so grateful to post link here as a reply, I think
everyone will be satisfied with official response. =)
