As Evan said the FANN 2 is not BC. FANN 1 is not available in any new
distro (fann 2.1 was released 6 years ago). I wouldn't mind to add a
migration path anyway but the main problem is that the old extension does
not work with newer versions of PHP. And when I say newer I don't really
mean new :). It had to stop working when ZEND_METHOD(fce_name) macro
evaluation was changed and used zim prefix in place of zif. I guess that it
was changed in PHP 5.0 but not sure about that.
Is it ok to update the extension without migration path in this case?
