I'd like to propose a new PECL extension - JDBC-like interface to SimpleSQL
database.
It has been released at sourceforge.net last week.
There are two packages lib_simplesql for PHP 5 and lib_simplesql4php4 for
PHP 4.
Currently there is only a windows version but SimpleSQL for linux should be
available this year.
The package contains four global function prefixed with simplesql_ and some
JDBC-like classes prefixed with D, like DStatement, DResultSet and so on.
SimpleSQL is written in Java and translated to C++, it can be built into
extension (actually is) but this solution requires C++ compiler. If the
whole extension must be written in C, extension may be dynamically linked
with SimpleSQL.
Which approach is suitable?
What should I change to make this package 100% compatible with pecl ?
Is the name lib_simplesql OK ?
You can find the current version at www.simplesql.org.
It is currently licensed under GPL but it's no a problem - I'm the copyright
owner.
