The sources contain version info, but not binary. I've given the example of tidy, tidy extension have a function tidy_get_release(); wich return the release date. It could be also the version ? why not ? I know it's not a requirement, but i'm giving a suggestion. phpinfo() print what's giving in the PHP_MINFO_FUNCTION() ... we can just add the version info somewhere ?
As Andrey said: You can use the Reflection API to get the version number
of
an extension: $ext = new ReflectionExtension("tidy'); echo $ext->getVersion();
Yes I know that, it's PHP5 specific. What about PHP4 ? Hatem
PHP 4.3 is the old stable branch. The new stable branch is PHP 5.0.x . New functionality goes there. Only bugs are backported to 4.3 . This is at least what I know about the how things work nowadays. Regards, Andrey
