thanks gareth.
your quiet right... hadn't libtool installed.
As Justin mentioned before you need:
autoconf: 2.13
automake: 1.4+
libtool: 1.4.x+ (except 1.4.2)
bison: 1.28 (preferred), 1.35, or 1.75
flex: 2.5.4
there still were some more problems while installation:
- autom4te / automake errors: could be ignored
- make will ask for file 'ext/dom/document.h' or sth like this:
so just add a symbolic link to your php SOURCE extensions directory into
the src dir of xmlreader
cd /path/to/xmlreader-1.0
ln -s /path/to/php5-xxx-SRC/ext ./ext
then everything worked just fine...
of course you have to move the built .so file (src directory of xmlreader)
to your php extension dir (/usr/lib/php/ext sth.l.t) and activate the
extension in your php.ini (/usr/lib sth.l.t). That's it.
XMLReader rocks!
