Hi,
I'd like to contribute to PECL with a PHP
extension for RULI [1], a library for easily
querying DNS SRV resource records.
RULI stands for Resolver User Layer Interface.
It's a library built on top of an asynchronous
DNS stub resolver. RULI provides an easy-to-use
interface for querying DNS SRV resource records.
The goal is to promote wide deployment
of SRV-cognizant software. RULI aims to fully
support SRV-related standards. There are
bindings for Guile/Scheme, Perl, and PHP.
IPv6 is supported.
Such draft extension is available here:
http://savannah.nongnu.org/download/ruli/php-ruli-0.1.tar.gz
The extension currently provides only two functions:
array ruli_sync_query(string service, string domain, int
fallback_port, long options) query SRV records synchronously
array ruli_sync_smtp_query(string domain, long options) query SRV
records synchronously for _smtp._tcp service
This is the output from a quick test:
$ ./sapi/cli/php -r 'print_r(ruli_sync_smtp_query("registro.br", 0));'
Array

[0] => Array
(
[target] => registro.br.
[priority] => 5
[weight] => -1
[port] => 25
[addr_list] => Array

What about registering this extension as "ruli"
under "Networking" ?
Please advise.
Thanks,
Everton
