Hi,
I successfully compiled win32std and its functions seem to work well too,Good news :-)
but how to use them? :-)You can start by reading the README file, where all function are (roughtly) documented.
May I call Win32 API functions? Dunno what to do with func args like type and name...I think you talk about the w32api (or soon ffi) extension that is part of the PHP distribution (4.3.4 at least).
So I can only retrieve "resources"? (bitmaps, version info, ...) No Win32API stuff? The res_* open allow the access to resource embeded in exe or dll files. That can be used as you noticed to retrieve bitmaps or icons but also to add and retrieve arbitrary data in such files. This can be used for exemple in an installer or to embed scripts in a sapi. The res stream stuff serve here to allow the inclusion of such embeded data (include 'res://myfile.dll/PHP/SCRIPT'; for exemple). I think it could help, for exemple, Gtk developpers that need to hide scripts, to do it in an easy way (http://devel.akbkhome.com/talks/gtk_to_desktop.html). But in fact adding data after the compilation if pretty odd since the result (the exe/dll file) is a little messed, but at least it's works as expected. The best way is to compile the module with the resources using Visual.
// I would like to call EnumProcesses() contained in psapi.dllIf think it could be a good idea to add more Windows control functions like that in win32std. I'm open to suggestions about that. Regards, Eric (pleased to have the opportunity to talk about win32std ;-) At 21:23 19/11/2003, Michael Wallner wrote:
