(Of course a refactoring means renewed need for testing....) I've also added safe_mode_gid as an overridable setting and will get to the rest of the safe_mode gambit as time permits. In the future, please submit this sort of thing as a Feature Request via the PECL bugs system. No particular harm sending it here, just better to keep the discussion focused on generic PECL discussion rather than a package specific request. -Sara
