The tricks and whistles of PEAR_Delegator slow down execution time, especially when some of the features are not necessary.
It has been suggested that I make a lightweight version, but I dislike the notion of breaking the project apart.
Would a native PECL version benefit?
If so, I need to consider the name of the native class. I could maintain the name PEAR_Delegator in order to keep compatibility with the PEAR version, but that seems inappropriate, especially since a drastic change to PECL support would not be too problematic, as PEAR_Delegator is still in its alpha stage.
In other words, I would like to recreate PEAR_Delegator as a PECL extension class named Delegator.
Your thoughts will be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Herr Witten
