Problems with bcompiler

Hi I am trying to use the bcompiler in a Debian system but without sucess: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: bcompiler_write_header() in ... My "PHP Version 4.3.10-15" was installed from a binary package (.deb file). I made the comand "pear install bcompiler" with success (after solving problems caused by the lack of libbz2).
