Hi. I'm trying to get php4 going on Solaris10/x86 and I'm not finding this an easy task. I built php-4.4.4 (using the Sun compilers) and then tried to build the oci8 module which I downloaded from pecl.php.net. After building and installing thisthough, I find I get a segfault whenever I try to run a trivial test program against our test database: <?php $conn = ocinlogon("XXXXXXXX", "XXXXXXXX", "CMSZ"); ocilogoff($conn); ?> I ran this by doing a simple /usr/local/php-4.4.4/bin/php -f oci-test.php The stack trace using the core file shows: (gdb) bt warning: (Internal error: pc 0x0 in read in psymtab, but not in symtab.) warning: (Internal error: pc 0x0 in read in psymtab, but not in symtab.) #0 0x00000000 in ?? Yes, it looks like Oracle Client problem. At least, the backtrace shows that the client segfaults during perfectly legal OCIServerAttach() call. Check if you set all required environment variables, like ORACLE_HOME, NLS_LANG etc. It should not segfault anyway, but missing variable might be a reason.
Is there a known combination of php4/oci drivers that will work on Solaris10/x86?
I've never heard of any problems with OCI8 @ Solaris10/x86. -- Wbr, Antony Dovgal
