Mine is also making use of libdbus and it can only call other methods. I've attempted to add some code comment documentation in dbus.c. The module directory is zipped up and available for your consideration: http://www.gigglewax.com/php_dbus-0.1.zip I've include a PHP class wrapper for the module that should help suggest how it could be used but as yet, I have not written any unit tests which will further illustrate functionality. It interprets values from D-Bus into PHP in what I hope to be an unexpected fashion. When translating from PHP to D-Bus the caller has the option to rely on the translation done in the module (see dbus_call() comment for details) or specifically tagging each value to send using D-Bus signature strings. I look forward to hearing feedback regarding this approach and would be happy to participate in discussions regarding how we might consolidate all these D-Bus efforts into one. -brad On Mon, Nov 3, 2008 at 11:59 PM, Masaki Fujimoto <fujimoto@php.net> wrote: > hi, > > let me tell you that I've already wrote same kind of extension (especially > for communicating w/ skype on linux): > > - http://github.com/fujimoto/php-dbus/tree/master > - http://labs.gree.jp/Top/OpenSource/DBus-en.html > > however, this module is just a simple wrapper of libdbus and depends on it, > so I'm also looking forward to your release of the extension:) > > thx! > > Brad Robel-Forrest wrote: >> >> I'd like to introduce myself and get feedback on an extension I've >> written around the D-Bus reference implementation >> (http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/dbus).
