PECL HTTP Extensions

Following my the previous messages. I'ts just weird, because there is an extension (phpcups.so) at the path "/usr/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613" and by not the defining any extension_dir on 'php.ini' (putting a ';' on the respective line) the path above is loaded by default and i can use the existing extension (php.so) using the dl() function or including it on 'php.ini' in the extension form. So i think the problem should be a damaged http extension or a bad installation of it. I've tried to install the http extension it with 'pecl' but however i could see the file on the path the extension is still not being loaded. Could somebody tell me step by step how to install it compiling with phpize? Where should i put all the files and that kind of stuff? Or does someone knows if there's any problem with the latest version of the extension (1.6.1)? Regards Rui Quelhas
