Thank you, Pierre. That's it then. I've asked two sysadmins. The other
runs BSD. Yes, they disable system functions.
So sysadmins consider PECL as a "special request" or "feature." Basically
PECL is completely out of my picture now. Very sad. I wish there were some
kind of master RPM that would give them all of PECL in one blow.
Thank you for saving me the trouble of trying the impossible.
