Hi Antony,
THX for your answer so far.
AD> Statement will be parsed only to detect placeholders in it.
OK - so the syntax of the statements coming from the application
will be discribed in an API-description, right?

Thats my opinion too, but I wanted to know what's the concept behind
PDO. I think it would be also a possible idea to handle ANSI-2
INTERMEDIATE only. If this would be the decision the userland
should work with almost all DBS also.
Where is a little documentation of the PDO-API available? So this a
basic information for me on whether to prefer PDO for forthcoming
projects or not. Perhaps I will decide to build an PHP-Layer for the
meantime until PDO is ready to rock. That would make it possible for
me to already design the userland and swapping the used layer later
to get more performance.

Here there are only basic infomation and examples. But the reality
is a little more complex I think.

Therefore it would be a senseful thing to know about the PDO-API... ;-)
