Simple enough.
Name: zeroconf
Description: Provides functionality for browsing
services available on local networks via the Zero
Configuration networking standard, as implemented by
the Howl ZeroConf library. Example services include
PostgreSQL and Sybase databases, Apache-hosted web
services via mod_rendezvous, and various published
services on Mac OS X (FTP, AFP, SSH, etc.). This
extension allows you to scan for specific services and
obtain the IP address and port the service is running
on.
As stated in the description, the extension links with
the Howl ZeroConf library available from
http://www.porchdogsoft.com/products/howl/
. The
license file states that portions are licensed under
the APSL v2.0, though Freshmeat notes that it is
distributed under a modified BSD license
(http://freshmeat.net/projects/howl/). I've emailed
the author for clarification and will forward his
response to this list as necessary.
