Using PDFlib with GD as PECL package

Hi, since PDFlib moved to PECL a build fails if one tries to build PDFlib with GD support. I spoke with some guys at LinuxTag in Karlsruhe about this problem, but without a solution till now. So I wanted to ask here for ideas on how to handle this.
