Hi, since PDFlib moved to PECL a build fails if one tries to build PDFlib with GD support. I spoke with some guys at LinuxTag in Karlsruhe about this problem, but without a solution till now. So I wanted to ask here for ideas on how to handle this.
I looked into it but got a bit stuck on it right now as a solution will require a bit more changes than i originaly assumed. The obvious problem is that the gd header files are not installed in /php-install-prefix/include/ext/gd when the bundled gd lib is used, so this should be changed. But right now we have a hardcoded list of extensions whos headers should be installed (target install-headers in php-src/scripts/Makefile.frag) and no way to dynamicly add further extension dirs or single files. I've started a patch that will add a PHP_INSTALL_HEADERS autoconf directive that can be used locally in extensions config.m4 files. This approach will put the information where it belongs instead of one central place and will allow for conditional installs. Problem number two is that pdf.c tests for HAVE_LIBGD13 and HAVE_GD_BUNDLED. The HAVE_GD_BUNDLED setting is not yet set by configure scripts in standalone extensions, this requires some changes to phpize. I hope to have a complete patch ready for review by monday ... -- Hartmut Holzgraefe <hartmut@php.net>
