Hi
I've now completed a Visual Basic application which configures IIS.
The idea is that the installshield type application fires up this
application just before installation is completed.
A different exe can be run appropriate for the type of web server chosen in
the install software.
The software is run with a command line something like:
....IISConfig.exe "C:\Program Files\php\php.exe" .php .phtml .php3
The software then builds a list of the scriptmap nodes in the IIS metabase
and allows the user to check the ones where php is to be mapped.
When the user clicks on Ok, the appropriate nodes in the metabase are edited
accordingly.
It all works fine on my machine, but I may have overlooked something, and
this is my first Visual Basic program, so I've really got no idea what I'm
doing!
If there are any competent Visual Basic coders on the list, can you take a
look at the program source at
http://www.dialsolutions.com/phil/php/installer/basic.txt
and let me know if you spot any errors.
The dialog box displayed by the software is shown at

The list grows scrollbars if required.
The web page at
http://www.dialsolutions.com/phil/php/installer/
shows the entire process if anyone needs a reminder.
Cheers
