Oh yeah. I had that also.
RedHat puts stuff in weird places, and PHP and MySQL put stuff in normal
places, and it breaks.
You'll need to copy your libmysqlclient.so from where-ever it is to
where-ever RedHat wants it. Actually, you need to track down the symbolic
links to whatever is the *real* file and copy that, or make yet another
symbolic link to it.
I'm not sure how feasible it is to make PHP configure predict where RedHat
is going to expect things to go -- I suspect RedHat keeps changing it around
in response to complaints, although their web-site claims they are following
a "standard"...
At any rate, it's been a long-standing and/or recurrent problem, and if the
installer can't figure out RedHat's plot, the only option is to document the
hell out of it.
