Hi, - Configuring c-client/imap is a real nightmare with php. I tried c-client/imap 2000 RC7 and php 4.0.3pl1. The manual (www.php.net/manual) mentions renaming c-client.a to libc-client.a (?), installing headers in /usr/local/include and lib in /usr/local/lib but this won't work. I solved configuring php with imap by copying files like this (like on my other setup): pc1: /usr/local/lib % ls -la c-client.a
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2179542 Oct 17 12:23 c-client.a
pc1: /usr/local/lib/include % ls -la total 80
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Oct 17 12:24 ./
drwxr-xr-x 12 root root 4096 Oct 17 12:24 ../
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 423 Oct 17 12:41 linkage.h
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 55652 Oct 17 01:48 mail.h
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4915 Oct 17 01:48 rfc822.h
plus another link with libc-client.a and another lib subdirectory with links to c-client.a too. and configuring --with-imap=/usr/local/lib finally enabled building imap+php. It should be noted that the correct linkage.h is not in the default imap package, only after having built it. IMHO, I really find it weird that IMAP_LIBDIR depends on headers' location... Shouldn't they be completely independent ? I might be wrong about all this, but anyway, in its current state, configuring c-client/imap with php is really tricky right now. - Another thing: This script: <? imap_open(); // any function not built in should do the trick too ?> gives me the following error: (which is normal) Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imap_open() in /home/cahagn_o/public_html/info.php on line 2 whereas with this script: <? @imap_open(); ?> PHP silently ignores it. Is it a bug or a feature ? Shouldn't it warn the user the function does not exist ? This is with PHP 4.0.3pl1 (without imap support for this example of course). -- Olivier.Cahagne@epita.fr
