Hey All,
It looks like the release proposal deadlocked. As I read it, Zeev
basically stated that the risk involved in changing systems is not
worth the possible benefits.
I agree with Jani's suggested changes in principle - if not in all
mechanics.
My suggestion on this is that we should focus on getting the QA effort
moving smoothly again. Once we have good community participation, then
lets look at these issues again. I feel that there is a strong risk
that we could spend a lot of time sorting out mechanics instead of
doing QA. (BTW It is very nice to see all of the testing that is going
on. I am going through the reports right now to compile a list of what
has been tested.)
Jani, this does not mean that I am dismissing your ideas. As you know,
I have a lot of respect for the work that you do. However, the QA team
has been limping along lately (which is very much my fault) - lets try
and get it moving before we make any big changes that could result in
the QA team stalling again and you taking on so much work that you burn
out.
