Hello All,
I am wrapping up a project over the next day and will be mostly unavailable.
In the meantime, perhaps the developers could let the QA team know what else
they would like to see from us on this release.
I will also finish up the PHP HTTP upload letter and start recruiting.
(Thanks to everyone who wrote me off list to give me extra suggestions!)
I plan to recruit from the PHP user base, and the various OS browser and
server projects.
Once we get done with the file upload stuff, I would like to try and hold the
testing group together long enough to test the following bits of PHP that are
heavily linked to browser/server implementation details:
- HTTP Headers
- Cookies (These are headers as well, but they are very important headers : )
- output handling
A good work over of these features could (IMO) make PHP 4.2.0 a very
significant release for people who rely on these features.
Even if the problems result from PHP doing something the right way and some
other piece of software doing things the wrong way, we can still document the
issues (or perhaps provide some kind of PEAR module to help users who must
rely on the faulty technology)
We could also share this information with the language-dev@netthink.co.uk
list.
Finally, thanks again to everyone who has stepped up to the plate for testing
on this latest release! : )
