It did build ok when I did a simple ./configure (with no options). I submitted the results of the 'make test' already.
I tried to build --with-apxs yesterday and it failed to build properly, I got numerous multiple definition errors. I'll try that again and mail the output to the list. I do recall some advice on Marc Liyanage's OSX ports page (www.entropy.ch/software/macosx/) regarding this. Evidently, and I have been able to build it using this procedure, if you ./configure a 4.0.6 source tree and then ./configure the 4.1 or 4.2 source tree, and then copy 4.0.6's libtool over, it builds properly. I will confirm all of this later this evening when I've got some more time to mess with it.

Hello Gabriel, were you be able to build the RC on MacOSX? I looked into the RELEASE_PROCESS file and read a bit (a few typos here and there btw ;) and learned about the QA Team. Anyways, I visited the site and noticed the "wanted sign" for OSX folks. Well, I'm offering you my services as a qa tester for OSX if you'd like. It said to introduce myself, so... My name's Gabriel Ricard, I live in Essex, Ma. I think it's pretty cool myself. ;) I'm not a wonderful C coder or anything but I know my way around the language, the GNU compiler suite and such ok.
