Hi Javier and Roger,
and welcome. Your help is needed and appreciated.
As I'm not aware of any real PHP trouble spots on
Mac OS X, there might not be any specific tasks
for you -- the general advice I can give is to stay
on the cutting edge and report any problems you may
encounter.
Generally, we have more problems in compiling PHP
than running it on OS X; the build toolchain is
relatively different from Linux et al, while the
runtime environment doesn't have that many
surprises for us.
I hope to get some Mac OS X -specific stuff into the
tree over the summer -- at least OSA support and
CoreGraphics-based imaging functions are in the
pipeline. We will also start supplying official
Mac OS X binaries once the required features (namely
dynamic extension support) are there. Obviously
this will be a big push from a QA point of view,
because there will be more stuff to test: the
installer, the PHP manual in Apple Help format, etc.
I'll try to keep php-qa up to date on the OS X -related
developments, but most of discussions will probably
happen on php-dev. If you have the time, following the
dev list won't hurt...
Marko
