Introducing myself ....

hello , I am a (not so ) young italian boy working mainly in php and unix related arguments. After 15 years as system engineer (first for IBM and then for FIAT) now I'm joking as indipendent consultant since 1996. I learned php when it was called php-fi or something like that ... and I host the first italian mirror (it.php.net). I can't say I'm really a developer, because I never wrote a complete application, but I deal with packages and front-end scripts, mainly between web server and legacy systems, because my first area of interest is in AIX and MVS. I passed months to have the first php correctly compiling under Aix 3.5 and I can say that only now we can have a completely open AIX-Apache environment. I administer some Linux and Aix servers on the net, and I can test php under Suse 7 and 8, AIX 4.3.3. and 5.1.0 In May 2002 I was involved whit IBM trying to port some open sources under z/OS Unix, but php was not able to run completely, due to my lack of knowledge of deep C programming .... it was a first tempt .... ! If my modest contribute could be useful, please call me .... i know there is a lot of unix guru, but not so much of them knows also Aix ! (not because it more difficult to learn, but because it is difficult to have a computer running it !) My best regards to all of you and thanks again for helping us whit a great language.
