If my modest contribute could be useful, please call me .... i know there is a lot of unix guru, but not so much of them knows also Aix !
(not because it more difficult to learn, but because it is difficult to have a computer running it !)
As for some details:
-- are you using xlc or gcc?
gcc (both self-compiled and downloaded from Bull precompiled)
-- if using xlc, do you have full support, so that you can query IBM techs for any oddities?
I have support, but here in Italy we don't trust so much on ibm (or other bigs) support ! I use to find myself the solutions
on the net .... last time I asked an help in IBM, they asked me why I worked on rs6000 instead than on as400 : here for 1 rs6000 there are 1000 as400s installed .
-- which processors are we talking about?
I own a small B50 plus some older deskside (530, 32h, 25t in my rs6000 paleo-museum), but dayly I work on 64 bit customer's boxes
as 6C1,6H1 and soon I hope to test a Regatta 670 The b50 is on the Net.
-- how's your knowledge of that freaky IBM linker? :)
I never used it for open sources because when I began, nobody was able to get some code working !!!
I'll try some test on 4.3 next week, I only need some method advice: I'll read more on the qa site.
