And a lot of Windows users are so used to software that just doesn't work on
their particular version of Windows, and won't be made to work in a short
time (ever wait for a patch from MS?), that they try it, it fails, they walk
away. End of story. Lost convert. They don't realize that a bug report
could give them a functioning product in (usually) 24 hours.
Thus, I don't think the Bugs database stats are a true representation of the
scope of usage and bugs.
Every word is true. I often think that users just forget about (specially windows guys) a placed bug report and wonder if they´re asked for feedback.
As far as things are working on windows users are going to check that out - the best example is the php4apache module, which can be build with ease - thus there are numerous people using it...
