Hello,
I successfully installed several php 'snaps' on Linux over the last two
or three weeks and bumped into a problem this week-end. Remember the
"Apache couldn't start" bug (#5895) ?
Methinks installing php with an RPM version of Apache won't work because
the modules directory of Apache is a symbolic link. I didn't verify this
but it's the only difference I noticed. The php module seems to look for
/usr/lib/apache, the resolved path for /etc/httpd/modules for the RedHat
6.2 Apache-1.3.12 RPM.
The symptom is that Apache won't load and quietly crash on startup.
Installing PHP with an Apache tarball works right.
I used latest snap, downloaded on sunday.
Good hunt guys.
P.S.: this notice may be related to #5902
