-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I don't know about anybody else but I think we should take a look at how PHP is packages to end users of it i.e. Make sure the Win32 binaries are distributed in a common fashion all of the time with some sort of structure to the Zip/Tar. I notice that the win4php.de distributions are set out nicely without everything being cluttered into one directory - but it still looks a bit to disorganised for me. I think this is probably one for the Doc team, in the Readme.txt that is distributed with the Win32 binaries there in no real mention of how to install PHP (I know it is on the site in the manual, but a lot of people like to have the instructions in front of them when they open the package), don't get me wrong there are instructions for IIS. However there are no instructions for Apache at - I know Apache on Win32 shouldn't be used in a live app situation at the moment but most people are using Apache and PHP on Win32 as test systems to develop apps that will be run on Linux (Or is some cases they would like to but can't find how to). You only have to look in some of the webmaster forums on the net to see that people are always asking for help installing PHP (Especially with Apache). I am willing to look at both these issues if need be. I think that if we could have both of these issues resolved then it would start to give the PHP distributions that professional sheen that it seems to be lacking at the moment (Especially to new users who really don't know much about setting up server software, but just want to get on with what they know which is programming and doing their web-pages). Sorry if this has been covered before but for some reason I wasn't added to the mailing list when I joined :( - - Karl - -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGP 6.0.2i iQA/AwUBOaIu+deSh5JUTtk8EQKJCQCeJRXnFYwJqvfhSjvIKtpgTqh3LrIAn0ml DUY+mU7Q6yJsJkhWMDplIyUh =l94z -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
