Where did you get that 'pear' command? From installing directly from the PHP
4.3.0 source distribution? from a RH rpm? From downloading the 'go-pear'
boostrap script? BTW, the latest version of PEAR is 1.0.1
If it is from the source code, check that you are calling the correct script
(in case you did an upgrade, which does not seem to be the case).
If from RPM, ask Red Hat. I tend to avoid rpms for Apache, MySQL, PHP and any
other stuff where I want to be sure what options I want to have and which ones
I rather not use.
In any case, your best bet to get a fresh/current 'pear' packager/installer is
by doing:
$ wget http://pear.php.net/go-pear
$ php -f go-pear
set the options as asked, and after all is done, try a:
$ pear list
to see what PEAR packages you have installed, and
$ pear list-upgrades
to check what installed packages have new versions, and if you want to upgrade
one, use:
$ pear upgrade PACKAGE_NAME
if you want to upgrade them all:
$ pear upgrade-all
For a full list of all available pacakges:
$ pear remote-list
If you are interested in a package you can do
$ pear remote-info <package-name>
e.g. "pear remote-info SOAP" gives:
Package details:
