Jonathan The PHP CGI needs the -q to avoid producing the HTTP headers, the PHP CLI does not. For more details look at the documentation at: http://www.php.net/manual/en/features.commandline.php You seem to be using the PHP CGI and mistaking it for the CLI. The CLI will work as Arnaud mentions. As for using the '#!', not everyone has php in /usr/bin or /usr/local/bin, some have it in /opt/bin, or other places, so your solution will break, unless you have some foolproof method to figure out the right interpreter to use. Might be doable using a secondary shell script. --- Jonathan Schilling <jls@sco.com> wrote: > > From arnaud.limbourg.prestataire@cegetel.fr Wed Jun 25 10:23:17 2003 > > > > > For those non-Unix-Linux platforms that don't support the > > > "#!" syntax, > > > they can modify it to whatever they need ... but making these changes > > > will get the most common case of the tool's usage to work better. > > > > Using the cli makes more sense here. > > > > php is usually in your path so using > > > > php or php-cli file.php (depending on your install) is not too cumbersome i > > would think. > > Arnaud, > > I don't quite understand your response.
