OK, here is more detail. Basically I found that a script that was using ODB
C was running, completing (it's output to the screen), but the browser was s
till busy doing something (both Netscape and IE exhibited this problem). I
had to hit the stop button. Here is a simplified script that was causing th
e problem:
<?
$conn = odbc_connect("TIME","","", SQL_CUR_USE_IF_NEEDED);
$rs = odbc_exec($conn, "select * from Clients");
$fields = array();
$r = odbc_fetch_into($rs, 1, &$fields);
// odbc_free_result($rs);
odbc_close($conn);
?>
<H1>ODBC Test</H1>
I've commented out the odbc_free_result call. With this line commented out
the script will hang. The side effect of letting it run too long is you wil
l get a 409 error. See below.
If I make the explicit call to odbc_free_result the script runs fine. So, I
haven't looked at the odbc source code, but perhaps some garbage collection
is running but there is a bug and it hangs????
Hope this info helps.
