if there's no strong reason against it i would perfer it as
it is a XML-based "open" standard. our own serialize() format
is not! only php unserialize() can read it's output.
in the long term i would even prefer if serialize() would write
wddx-encoded data - just make unserialize() understand both
formats.
i think we (the php-community) should try to use open formats
wherever possible. maybe even make php.ini into xml?
