I had similar problems with this and with any of the other functions
which used regexps (e.g., split()) with PHP4b3 under
Solaris-2.6. Sorry, I haven't found a workaround yet.
Someone else suggested recompiling with different regexp libraries but
I haven't had time to look into the options; if --with-regex=apache
failed for you it's bad news for me: on mine, phpinfo() shows:
System regex library enabled
Assuming "system" means "operating system".
Are there others that would be more likely to win?
