hi andrew, thanks for the time spent answering me but stiil cannot work I added as you said putenv("ODBCINI=/usr/local/lib/odbc.ini"); putenv("ODBC_LIBS=/usr/lib"); putenv("LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib"); phpinfo(); $con= odbc_connect("SERVER=goldorak;DATABASE=ispaltavista;UID=jj;PWD=azerty;","",""); in the ODBC panel of phpinfo() I have: Key Value Active Persistent Links 0 Active Links 0 ODBC library iodbc ODBC_INCLUDE (empty) ODBC_LFLAGS (empty) ODBC_LIBS (empty) and in the environnement panel ODBCINI /usr/local/lib/odbc.ini ODBC_LIBS /usr/lib LD_LIBRARY_PATH /usr/lib so it did pick up the env variables but still the same !?
